What is the sole purpose of education?

Before knowing the details, let’s know what does the word ’education’ define? The word education came from the Latin word ‘educare’ (means to bring up) and the word ‘ educere’ means to bring forth.

So, to educate means ‘to extract’ out or to bring forth. Overall, we can say that education means the activities of instructing or educating and the activities that transmit knowledge or skills.

Education is the process of making learning easier or the possessing of skills, knowledge, beliefs, values & habits.

Education is the leading distinct feature of any modern society. Education provides us knowledge & awareness and it also keeps us away from superstitions and blind beliefs.

It leads a person to go in the right way at every time in his life. Education enhances the ethical values of a person & helps to point out which is good or bad.

Education for knowledge:

Education is a process of learning and one move towards knowing different kinds of ideas, facts and theories whereas knowledge is the application of these theories and facts.

Education is a formal process of acquiring knowledge but knowledge gained informally through experiences. Education is connected to learning, knowing oneself & critical thinking and in the case of knowledge, it is related to facts.

If we discuss simply, the purpose of education is to educate people or children providing theoretical and practical knowledge with the aim of making them self-reliant which is given in the educational institutions, training centres (either it may be government or private).

It is the main equipment which connects the whole world in its rope. It aims to literate every single person and to raise the percentage of literacy throughout the globe.

Education participates a greater role in the expansion of culture, this is gained when conservation is done from a generation to other. Education is a piece of equipment to transfer ideas and social values to the present generation and next generations.

From a global perspective the purpose of education:

Worldwide education aims at opening universal dimensions and a holistic perspective in education in order to help people understand the complex realities and processes of today’s world.

And of course to develop knowledge, attitudes, values, skills that will awaken them to deal with the challenges of an interconnected world.

The global perspective of education is very important at every grade level in every curriculum subject area, and for all children & adults.
