Happy National Unity Day 2020

Introduction:

National Unity Day was introduced by the government of India in the year 2014 and after that every year this day is celebrated on 31st October to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

This day is also known as the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ or National Day of Unity. You know this day we celebrate nationwide for the honour of a,

  • A senior leader of INC (Indian National Congress)
  • Lawyer
  • Freedom fighter
  • Iron Man of India
  • First Deputy Prime Ministers and first Home Minister of independent India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950).

Why it is celebrated:

This day commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel and his contribution to the national unity.

It is celebrated in our country organizing Run for Unity (a nationwide marathon) since 2014 every year on October 31st to raise awareness about the National Day of Unity were many spots person, central police forces and sports enthusiasts join there.

Many educational institutions hold competitions like National Unity Day essay, debate and acting on this day. Rashtriya Ekta Divas Parade is organized and our honourable Prime Minister pays tribute to Sardar Patel at ‘Statue of Unity’ (Kevadia, Gujarat).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Technology Demonstration Site there, where the security personnel showcase different technologies. For the honour of Sardar Patel:

  • 182-meter-high statue of Sardar Patel has built-in kevadia, Gujarat (at Sadhu-Bet Island), Which is known as the ‘Statue of Unity’ the highest statue of the world.

Summary:

National unity means unity and unanimity among the people of our country, helping each other in every situation.

I will converse and discuss with my friends, family members and relatives about the importance of unity & how do we enhance the national unity (which I never did before, so it is special for me).
